Does Auto Connection put GPS on Vehicles they sale?

I was talking to a friend and they told me that Auto Connection puts some sort of GPS on your vehicles and if your late it will shut the car off. This sounds kind of fishy to me; maybe even illegal. Was just curious if anyone heard of this.

    Many Buy-Here-Pay-Here shops do this.

Most of their customers are high risks that banks wont touch with a 10 foot pole so they are just making sure they keep paying. And yes its legal.

its neither fishy nor illegal. Its normal business with almost all Buy Here/Pay Here lots any more.

They install these devices to make the cars easy to repossess when you skip payments. They can log into a website, shut the car off, and get a report on exactly where it is. Makes the job MUCH easier, and cheaper, on them. When you pay the car off, you go to the dealer and they will either remove or disable it.
