A GPS tracking system is a wonderful tool that can help people get from one point to another. It can also help to find out where a missing family member may be. One of the most popular uses for this type of tracking system is to place a chip just under an animals skin, typically a dog or a cat, so that they can be found if they ever get away from their owners. The Humane Society and other animal adoption agencies are now regularly “chipping” dogs and cats that are being adopted as part of the adoption cost. If the pet is ever lost or stolen, the owner can contact the pet adoption agency and they can get a location on the pet.
The chip is placed directly under the skin and has its own tracking number that is filed with the system. Along with the chip, most pets are going to be tattooed with a unique number that can be called in by the person who finds the pet. This also helps pet owners find lost animals. When a pet was lost before, all the owners could do was to put up fliers and hope some kind soul found their pet before any accidents befell the pet. This was a slow and painful process for those families who wanted their pet back more than anything.
In most homes, a pet is just as an important family member as their human counter parts. That is why GPS pet chipping is so important to them. They do not want to lose any family member, even a pet. Most veterinarians are offering chipping for those pets that do not come from shelters but from home private breeders instead. While some breeders are picking up on this technology and are having new pups or kittens chipped as soon as possible, many do not. For this reason, their needs to be another way to get this procedure accomplished. This is why vets are now offering this service to their clients.
GPS systems can then find the pet when it is lost or stolen. Many times, this can happen within just an hour or two of the pet leaving the home or the area where it was last seen. All the pet owner needs to do is place a phone call or log into an online web site to see where the GPS tracking system is locating their dog at. Many are going to want to bring their computer on the chase for the pet as they can move quite quickly and can be in one location at one minute and in another completely different location the next. Tracking them can, at times, be the only way to find them.

Title: Ranchers Use GPS Technology to Keep Track of Cattle Herds
Word Count: 410
Ranchers have to deal with large herds of animals on large parcels of land. Some time the land they are roaming can be upwards of a thousand acres. Finding a herd can be easy if the rancher owns a helicopter and does not mind the expense of flying around for hours searching them out. Using GPS tracking technology is one of the best ways of locating herds of cattle quickly and easily no matter where they are located on the property. This technology saves them time and a good amount of effort in finding herds that are ready to be moved to a new location.
Not only can herds of cattle be tracked, but those who own many horses can also keep track of each one through this same system. All it takes for either horses or cattle is to put a tracking chip underneath the skin of the animals and then they can be located by using a computer. Once the animals are found, they can be brought in the same way that they would normally be herded in. If one or two get away, they can be located just as quickly. This can save the ranchers an enormous amount of money on livestock. This system can make losing a herd for a day or two completely obsolete.
There is never going to be a chance for these animals to get away when they are chipped and can be tracked night or day. Some ranchers can check on their herds each night to see how far they have roamed in the day. This can make it easier for them to know when they should be moved to better pasture lands. If the animals are roaming well and are in areas where there is plenty of vegetation for them to eat, they can simply leave them where they are instead of roaming around looking for them to make sure that they are ok.
This is making it easier for ranchers to keep an eye on their livestock which is also their livelihood and their financial future. GPS positioning can allow them to know where the herd is at any time. No longer do they have to get a helicopter or ride out and search down the herds when it is time to bring them in. The money that is saved can be put to other uses and the ranchers are going to save a good deal of money each year.
