I bought a new boat and need a good reliable gps…and it would be nice to use in the car as well.with addresses..any suggestions?

I need something that would leave a crumb trail from orgin to where ever…so if I get turned around I can get back.
I am looking for one under $100…am I dreaming?

About nine months ago, my car window was smashed and my GPS was stolen. Since I am going to drive a long way this Thanksgiving, I think it’s better to get another GPS. So I went a local pawn shop to see if there is any used GPS for sale. Then I found one which the same model as mine, from the scratch patten I’m quite sure it is mine, although I have no proof.

I’m wondering if there is any way to get it back? Is contacting police going to help? Any suggestion?

By the way, I do have the receipt.

There’s a GPS for sale, a Magellan 1424 for $100, normally $250.. I’d like to get them this sale offer and be done with it, but I want to make sure it will do the job.

They love to canoe and kayak in backcountry areas of Canada.. not SUPER backcountry, but definately rural.. I’m wondering if this GPS would actually help them with this? They usually drive around with a big map open, looking for drop in points and pickup points for their canoes… AND, when they are canoeing, they sometimes run into trouble in that they are not where they thought they were – because their map calculations aren’t correct. Would this GPS help show them, while their canoeing, exactly where they are at that point?

They are not extremely techhie people, and neither am I! Simple and inexpensive would be better!
